This is a temporary page to provide support for WearMETAR and WatchMETAR apps.
The content will be updated once the new versions of the apps are released.

WearMETAR is an app for Android Wear smartwatches that allows pilots to access airport weather (METAR) and forecast (TAF) right from their wrists.
It is available from Play Store and compatible with Android Wear 1.2+.

The app provides the following functionality:

  • Use voice to search airports by name or city
  • Enter 4-letter airport ICAO ID using spinning wheels
  • Locate nearby airport
  • Quickly display weather for recent searches
  • Display weather and forecast for selected airport(s) with fully decoded METAR and TAF in easy to digest format and times in local time zone

The app is currently being updated to support Android Wear 2.0 with standalone mode support and improved user interface, including keyboard input and scribble mode.

WatchMETAR is a port of WearMETAR for Apple Watch, compatible with WatchOS 3+, rewritten from scratch in Swift. It supports all functionality of WearMETAR with the following differences:

  • Recent searches are stored on voice input page
  • Use scribble instead of spinning wheel input to enter ICAO ID, name or city as an alternative to voice input
  • Both METAR and TAF for selected airportsĀ are displayed on a single scrollable page
  • Nearby airports search displays 5 closest airports
  • If you close the app and then reopen it, or just leave it running, it will stay on the same page you left it on. The page will update automatically if the information is expired.
  • You can manually update search results or weather information by using force touch

Both apps are free and currently restricted to U.S. airports only.
